Ray Coulombe

Ray Coulombe is the founder and Managing Director of He has extensive experience with start-up and early stage growth companies, including his own consulting firm, Gilwell Technology Services. Formerly, Ray was COO and co-founder of SyPixx Networks, acquired in 2006 by Cisco, and was responsible for providing critical transition assistance into Cisco's Physical Security Business Unit. Ray also played a significant role in the development of several other early-stage companies in the security industry including IFS and Fiber Options. He sits on the PSA Security Network Advisory Board and writes and lectures extensively in the industry. He has additional past experience with 3M, Emerson Electric Company, and the United States Air Force. Ray is actively involved with community organizations such as the American Red Cross, where he serves as a member of the Connecticut Regional Chapter Board of Directors and participates in its Executive and Leadership Committees. He holds a BSEE from Cornell University, a Masters degree in Management from MIT and a Master's degree Information Technology Master's degree Information Technology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Jonathan Cunningham is the IT Director of ADS Security L.P. located in Nashville Tennessee. He started at ADS in 2009 as a field support technician and has since worked his way up through management to the IT Director position. Jonathan's involvement in the Alarm industry has continued in different aspects since 2001 when he worked as an Alarm Installer. Prior to joining ADS Security, he owned and operated his own production company, providing lighting and sound production for the music business in Nashville. Jonathan takes pride in his ability to apply his years of field experience and technology background to help make ADS a leader in the Security Industry.

Jonathan is a lifelong Tennessee native and lives about 25 miles East of Nashville with his wife April and two children Landan and Gavin. Previous to Kratos' acquisition of Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies Integration, he was the Director of Sales for the Northern Region of the company's Integrated Services division, and acted as the sales leader during the company's acquisition by Kratos, plus other sales and leadership positions at Ingersoll Rand. Steve Gorski

Steve Gorski currently serves as General Manager, Americas, for MOBOTIX, a market leading developer of network-based, high-resolution surveillance technologies. In this role, Gorski is responsible for overseeing sales, marketing and operations in the Americas regions for MOBOTIX.

Prior to joining MOBOTIX, Steve was National Sales Manager for Axis Communications where he was responsible for overseeing regional sales analysis and trends, developing new business opportunities in key vertical markets, and managing a robust team of regional sales professionals. Previously, he served as Managing Director of the UK and Ireland regions for Axis Communications UK Ltd., where he successfully engineered a sales strategy that increased the division's growth by more than 40 percent. Harold Grimsley

Harold Grimsley is the Sr. Director for Corporate Safety, Security, & Facility Operations for Florida Blue, Florida's Blue Cross and Blue Shield plan. In this position he is responsible for leading the safety and security functions for over 11,500 employees and close to three million square feet of corporate real estate including office buildings, retail centers, data centers, health clinics, and an airplane hangar located in six states.

He has over twenty two years of experience leading safety and security organizations. Harold holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology and is board certified in security management as a Certified Protection Professional. He is the past Chair for the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association's Corporate Security Leadership Council as well as past Chair for the Jacksonville, Florida chapter of ASIS, International. In 2009, Harold was honored by Security Director News as one of twenty security professionals who represent the future of the security industry.

Harold is the author of The Successful Security Leader – Strategies for Success, a success guide for security practitioners. In it he not only examines strategies leaders can use to gain success in their leadership role, but he also examines the reasons some security leaders fail and others thrive.

Prior to his career with Florida Blue, he served in security leadership positions with two Fortune 500 companies. He is a member of International Facility Management Association, National Fire Protection Association, and ASIS, International.

Harold resides in Jacksonville, Florida with Angie, his bride of twenty-two years, and his daughter Jamie.

Ian Johnston

Ian Johnston

Ian Johnston, Founder and CEO of ISD, is an experienced technology leader in the IP surveillance and security markets. He has a broad working knowledge of diverse camera technology platforms, the latest CMOS imaging technology and embedded IP network systems, and is highly experienced in finding solutions to complex issues to maximize results from product development programs. He comes to Innovative Security Designs with extensive experience in the development and delivery of IP-based, megapixel video surveillance systems. Prior to founding ISD, Johnston served as Chief Technology Officer at IQinVision. During his tenure with the company, he spearheaded the development of a broad product portfolio that doubled revenue every 18 months and resulted in 16 straight profitable quarters. Thomas Komola

Prior to coming to MIT eleven years ago, Tom was actively engaged in the law enforcement profession including five years as the Superintendent of the MBTA Transit Police in Boston. Tom's current responsibilities as the Manager of the Security & Emergency Management Office at MIT include being designated as MIT's reliable and trustworthy representative with the FBI and NRC for all pre-employment background investigations and unique research clearances; oversight of all campus-wide security systems, mechanical key distribution, ID Card Office operations, Emergency Management contingency plans and regularly serves as MIT's Incident Commander during the activation of MIT's EOC. Tom holds a Bachelor's Degree in Law Enforcement from Western New England College and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Framingham State University. He is an active member of the Boston Anti-Terrorism Advisory Council, Boston Infragard, ASIS, National Association of Professional Background Screeners and the International Association of College Law Enforcement Administrators. He has received numerous awards including his nomination for the George Hanna Memorial Award for Bravery, the highest recognition bestowed upon a police officer in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Tom often serves as a panelist or guest speaker on a variety of topics related to security, background checks and emergency management.

He currently serves as the Director of Security Services for the Children's National Health System in Washington, DC. In his current role, he is responsible for the design, implementation and monitoring of a comprehensive security management program for all physical locations within the Children's National Health System. During his tenure at Children's National, he has been instrumental in developing and implementing an impressive electronic enterprise-wide security system which has been instrumental in mitigating security incidents and helping to bring positive closure to investigative cases.

Rose Miller

Ms Rose M. Miller is a native of East Berlin, Pennsylvania and a graduate of Clarion University of Pennsylvania. She received a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Oklahoma and a Masters in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. Ms. Miller is board certified in Security Management and is designated as a Certified Protection Professional by ASIS International.

Ms Miller is a 27 year career Army officer, retiring in 2008 as a Colonel. During the course of her career as a Military Police officer, Ms Miller led military police and government civilian police in organizations ranging in size from 45 to 600 personnel. She was responsible for law enforcement, criminal investigations, anti-terrorism, and security for multiple military facilities geographically dispersed throughout the United States and in Germany, South Korea, and Afghanistan. She is a combat veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan where she served as the Commander of a Brigade Task Force of over 600 personnel and as the Chief of Police for all U.S. Armed Forces in Afghanistan. Her last assignment on active duty was as the Chief of Police and Chief of Security, Force Protection, and Law Enforcement for the U.S. Army Materiel Command, a four star general command, of over 55,000 personnel. She received numerous awards while on active duty to include the Bronze Star Medal and the Distinguished Service Medal. In 2011, she was recognized by the Clarion University of Pennsylvania Alumni Foundation with the Distinguished Achievement Award.

From 2008 until joining MedStar Washington Hospital Center in December 2011, she worked for a private management consulting company in Arlington, Virginia, providing expertise to the National Guard Bureau in domestic operations. In addition she was self employed as a consultant in security, program management and business development.

Rose is single and lives in Chantilly, Virginia where she enjoys playing golf, running, hiking, cooking and traveling.

Ralph Nerette

Ralph Nerette

Ralph Nerette is the manager of security for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. He has more than 14 years of experience in the security industry; more than 10 years of which have been in security management. Formerly, Ralph held the position of security systems manager at Dana-Farber, applying his education in computer science and information technology in designing security systems, integrations and managing innovative operations center models. Currently, he manages a 50-member department responsible for patient safety, employee security, worker training in fire safety and workplace violence, maintaining regulatory compliance and establishing relationships with local law enforcement agencies are among his responsibilities.

He is also member of the American Society for Industrial Security international and International Association Healthcare Security and Safety.

Mike Neugebauerr

Mike Neugebauer

A 37-year security and law enforcement professional, Michael Neugebauer currently serves as Vice President & Senior Manager for Corporate Safety & Security at Fifth Third Bancorp. In this capacity he is responsible for the Safety & Physical Security department, managing the Bancorp physical security standards, surveillance, security and fire alarm systems, access control, security guard force and the Bancorp Security Operations Center.

In addition he is responsible for all life safety issues, OSHA, NFPA, safety education and training for the entire organization, including over 1,300 locations and nearly 22,000 employees in 12 states.

He brought a wealth of experience when he joined the Bank in 1998 from after twenty plus years of service in the Law Enforcement and Fire/EMS Community. Michael also served in the United States Armed Forces in the Military Police Corp.

Michael is board certified in security management as a Certified Protection Professional and member of ASIS. He has been appointed to Vice Chair to the ASIS international finical and banking council. In addition, he represents Fifth Third Bank on the ABA Security Committee, which is comprised of security leaders from the top 20 finical institutions. He current is the chairman of the professional standards committee. Michael is a member of the Board of Directors of the Yellow Ribbon Support foundation. Michael has also presented at ISC West, ABA Risk Management conference and numerous other security events. He attended the University of Cincinnati and Wilmington College.

Fredrik Nilsson

Fredrik Nilsson

Fredrik Nilsson is the general manager for Axis Communications with responsibility for the company's operations in North America since 2003. During that time, he has helped the company increase the revenue fivefold and has been instrumental in leading the industry shift from analog closed circuit television to network video.

Mr. Nilsson serves on the SIA (Security Industry Association) Board of Directors and Executive Committee. He is a trusted industry speaker and has spoken at more than 20 conferences, including Securing New Ground, ASIS Emerging Trends in Security, ISC West, ISC East, and Interop, and has been invited as a keynote speaker at security and surveillance tradeshows. Mr. Nilsson has appeared as an expert voice in top publications such as The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, USA Today and the Washington Post, and has appeared on national television shows such as CNN Headline News, CNBC's "Wake Up Call" and the Fox News Channel's "Fox & Friends." He has written articles for and has been quoted in many security industry publications, including Security Magazine, Security Management and Security Systems News. He is also a regular columnist for, and has authored a book, "Intelligent Network Video" published by CRC Press.

Prior to working for Axis, Mr. Nilsson served as a product manager for ABB, a global leader in power and automation technologies.

A graduate of the Lund Institute of Technology, Mr. Nilsson holds a master's degree in electrical engineering, which he followed up with post-graduate studies in economics.

Joe Parisi spent six years in the United States Marine Corps as an Avionics Technician learning the technical skills to build his career in the fire and security industry. While he was studying for his Electrical Engineering Degree, he joined the research and development team at Detection Systems/Radionics, and assisted with the release of the Radionics D6600 Central Station Receiver. Work on this team led Parisi to the central station side of the security industry. He served on the Department of Homeland Security as a Senior Remote Programmer, which provided valuable field experience for his current role as Senior Account Executive for Rapid Response Monitoring.

In 2011, Parisi accepted the position of President of the New Jersey Burglar and Fire Alarm Association, where with the support of its board of directors, and members, the NJBFAA is helping shape the future of industry codes and legislation.

Chris Peckham

Chris Peckham

Christopher Peckham currently serves as Senior VP, Chief Technology Officer and Special Projects, of KRATOS|PSS, a division of Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, where he leads the team's efforts in complex projects and programs. In this role he is also the primary driver of the technology efforts taken on to maintain thought leadership in the company's industries with regard to the effects of major market trends such as "convergence."

Mr. Peckham has served in a variety of technical leadership positions in information technology, engineering, and operations during his career. Prior to the acquisition of PSS by Kratos in December 2010, he was the Chief Information Officer / Chief Security Officer of PSS beginning in September 2007. As CIO/CSO, he was responsible for leading the information, security and network engineering services for the Company. Mr. Peckham has also served in as the Director of Operations with Sungard Higher Education in Dobbs Ferry, NY, the VP of Engineering at SkipJam Corp, in Greenwich, CT, the Senior Vice President of Information Systems and Vice President of Network Engineering and Operations at Globix Corporation in New York, NY. He is CHEP (Certified Healthcare Emergency Professional) certified. Randy has been Director of Security for 5 years. The Security Department has 52 armed Security Officers. Shawn Reilly is Director of Health Care Security Training and Risk Evaluation at Tech Systems, Inc. Previously, he held the position of the Chief of Police and Director of Security for the Greenville Health System (GHS) for eight years, where he was responsible for the safety and security of six major hospital campuses, to include a University Medical Center, a four-year medical school, and more than 100 doctor practices. Shawn is a retired Air Force Security Forces officer with 29 years experience in law enforcement, security, and antiterrorism.Upon his retirement, he went to work for the ANSER Corporation in the asymmetrical threat division as a senior analyst conducting risk assessments and antiterrorism training to personnel at military installations. He is an ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP), and is the Western South Carolina ASIS chapter chairman. He is also the S.C. State Representative for the International Association of Hospital Security and Safety (IAHSS), and is a Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA). In March of 2012, his health system was recognized by the IAHSS as a "Hospital System of Distinction," only the second system in the country to receive this accreditation. As past owner of SIReilly & Associates, LLC he was contracted to conduct risk assessments for hospitals, schools, and industrial sites. He is a graduate of the US Air Force's vulnerability assessment course and the Defense Industrial Security Risk Assessment course. Shawn has taught the risk assessment processes at healthcare security conferences and to hospital security leaders. In addition to his vast experience in risk assessments Shawn has a lifelong passion for teaching and training programs. With experience as a college instructor, certified trainer in law enforcement and security, along with having held the position of Professor of Aerospace Studies, Shawn has the experience and talent to transform security training programs. Mr. Romanowich is the president and CEO of SightLogix, a leading intelligent camera supplier for perimeter security applications. He has two decades of success in building technology companies, having held management positions in video technologies with Intel, IBM and the Sarnoff Corporation. He also co-founded Pyramid Vision Technologies, a pioneer in intelligent video surveillance acquired by L3 Communications. Mr. Romanowich is a board member of the Security Industry Association (SIA) and serves as the Chairman of SIA's Critical Infrastructure Protection Working Group. Mr. Romanowich is also the chairman of SIA's Perimeter Security Standards Subcommittee. For Mr. Romanowich's efforts within SIA, he received the "2011 Statesman Award," the highest honor given to one member each year.

Nicholas Santillo Jr.

Nicholas Santillo Jr. has more than 10 years of experience in the security and water utility industry. Among his duties at American Water, the largest investor-owned water and wastewater utility in the United States, are providing oversight for all aspects of the Operations Security program in 32 states and overseeing risk and security assessments for more than 3,000 assets nationwide. Before joining the utility, Santillo worked as a police dispatcher and 911 operator and as a loss control manager for Home Depot.

Ron Self

Ron Self

Ron Self began his law enforcement career in 1999 with the Mississippi County, Ark., Sherriff's Office. Later that year he joined a small police department in Luxora, Ark., and completed his associate's degree in criminal justice. He then moved on to the Jonesboro, Ark., Police Department, where in the School Resource Officer Department he was a DARE officer and juvenile crimes officer. That's when he became involved with the newly formed Arkansas Safe Schools Association. Five years later he became the director of safety and security for the Blytheville School District. He remains a part-time police officer. In May, he will graduate from Arkansas Tech University with a degree in emergency management and administration. He then plans to enroll in the university's emergency management and homeland security master's program.

Scott Starkey is the Security Superintendent for the Birmingham Water Works Board. He also brings to the role his legal experience dealing with premise liability issues and negligent security when performing risk-based assessments for companies throughout the United States. Previously, Scott designed and oversaw construction of large scale, physical security systems for utilities.

Scott is board certified in Security Management (CPP) and Physical Security (PSP). He is also chairman of the Subject Matters Expert Committee of ASIS International's Utility Security Council. He received an engineering degree from Mercer University and received his Juris Doctor from Cumberland School of Law.

DONALD R. ZOUFAL, JD, is currently a Safety and Security Industry Executive with SDI (System Development.Integration, LLC), a systems integrator specializing in advanced security technology systems and services for critical infrastructure and campus environments. Mr. Zoufal has held a series of high level public sector safety and security posts including as the Deputy Commissioner for Safety and Security for the City of Chicago's Department of Aviation, where he supervised security operations at O'Hare and Midway International Airports. Mr. Zoufal also served as Special Assistant to the Director of Illinois Emergency Management Agency/Acting Homeland Security Director for the State of Illinois; and as First Deputy (second in command) for the City of Chicago's Office of Emergency Management and Communications (OEMC), the agency of City government primarily responsible for homeland security planning and response. Mr. Zoufal currently serves (as a Steering Committee Member) on the Airport Council International (ACI)-North America (NA) Public Safety and Security Committee and Facilitation Committees and as a member of the ACI-World Facilitation Committee. He is also a member of the Leadership Team for the DHS/DoC sponsored Video Quality in Public Safety Project (VQiPS) an served as a member of TSA Committee that prepared Recommended Security Guidelines for Airport Design, Planning and Construction.
